The mastermind behind P’Cheen International Bistro Pub, Mike
LaSage took the popularity of that restaurant’s “Mike’s Monday Night Bone Lick
BBQ” weekly series and turned it into the new BBQ hotspot located in West
Midtown. Bone Lick BBQ will serve Chef Mike LaSage's award-winning barbecue in
a fun, kitschy environment that includes an antique skee ball machine, jukebox,
vintage refrigerators, and a bathtub behind the bar filled with ice cold brews.
LaSage promises to have all of his favorites that kept P’Cheen packed on
Monday nights, but is also serving up new offerings in addition to
homemade beef jerky and sausage, cured hams, specialty bacon, homemade
sauces and more. Recently interviewed for the restaurant’s August 14th
grand opening, he stated what type of food diners should expect. “We’re
not going for your typical barbecue restaurant…good barbecue takes love,
time and patience. You have to love what you are doing and it is
critical to be more concerned with the quality than the quantity. We
are going to be making everything fresh, from scratch every day.”
As evidenced by their innovative menu, Bone Lick BBQ is
definitely not your average BBQ joint. Expect to see tempting menu items like: barbecued
red snapper, brisket sandwich, pecan smoked chicken and maple-bacon cotton candy.
No barbecue meal is complete without a choice selection of ice cold brews to
wash it down. In an effort to drill in the down home touch, only Georgia beer
will be on tap, as well as local wine.
Bone Lick BBQ is conveniently located in the Apex West Midtown
retail area at 1133 Huff Road. They are open for lunch and dinner Tuesday
through Sunday at 11 a.m. The kitchen will close for dinner nightly
at 11 p.m. Parking is available on the street and in a large parking
deck accessible by an entrance located between Slice and Bone Lick
BBQ. For more information visit them online at www.
