On July 4, 1970 in Atlanta, a group of just over 100 runners made history by running down Peachtree.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race, which began as a simple fun run, has grown over the past forty years into one of the city’s signature events and favorite Fourth of July traditions.
