The Birth of 24 Hour News [Infographic]

May 15th, 2012 - In 1982 CNN2 was launched, which was the first cable station to feature nonstop 24-hour news. The broadcast was broken down into 30 minute news segments and paved the way for the many news-only stations that have launched in the past 30 years. Even with this explosion of mass media, CNN has remained the leader and most recognized name in the news business.
