The official source of what's happening in Atlanta, GA
Even though we’re in the heart of the South, Atlanta still operates much like a big city. We have just about everything metropolitan meccas New York and LA do, even if we are less than twice the size. However, there is one culinary delight that other cities like New York and Chicago have that we don’t, and that is the delicious and delightful food truck. Well, Atlanta foodies can rejoice because the brand new Atlanta Food Truck Park & Market is open for all to enjoy.
Only the second of its kind in the country, the very first Atlanta Food Truck Park & Market is filled with a smorgasbord of food types that are sure to entice and please the pickiest of palates. Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night dining, it features as many as 15 food trucks at a time, offering the variety needed to make this experience worthwhile.
The debut of the park was conceptualized by co-owner of Sweet Auburn BBQ, Howard Hsu, who also partnered with Anita Hsu and Brian Harvin to bring his vision to life. Describing why he wanted to bring this food experience to Atlanta, Hsu stated “as a member of the Atlanta Food Truck community, I recognized the challenge that our city’s food trucks face of finding consistent , popular locations that are also convenient for customers. The Atlanta Food Truck Park & Market is our answer to that. We are confident that establishing this destination will increase exposure, drive business and continue to encourage the city’s young entrepreneurs to develop their street food concepts.” Hsu seems to have high hopes for what the park and market will bring to Atlanta, and judging by the initial response, he seems to be on to something big.
While there will always be a variety of food trucks to choose from, with some being mainstays as others are featured, you can count on never being bored with the selections. Some of the food trucks include: Sweet Auburn BBQ, Yumbii, King of Pops, WOW Truck, Happy Belly, Honeysuckle Gelato, Nana G’s Chik-n-Waffles, Yum Yum Cupcake, Mighty Meatballs, Tex’s Tacos, Champion Cheesesteaks and Pressed For Time Paninis.
As if that wasn’t enough, innovative food selections aren’t the only things served up at the park, as guests can also indulge in live entertainment. Every Thursday night a host of local and regional acts will perform live music, while art enthusiasts can enjoy a monthly showcase known as the Art Farm. For those interested in live produce, every Saturday and Sunday will feature a farmer’s market from 9am until 1pm.
The Atlanta Food Truck Park & Market is located at 1850 Howell Mill Rd. Atlanta, GA.
