The official source of what's happening in Atlanta, GA
You don’t have to be a connoisseur or even a sommelier to appreciate a fine wine. Wine is something that goes good with everything year round, which makes indulging in various types quite a fun experience. For those of you in Atlanta who want a little history with your wine, you should try out the Georgia Wine Experience Tour that is currently underway in North Georgia Wine Country.
It’s pretty easy to fall into a weekend routine of dining, movies and shopping, but why not throw a wrench in your planned safety net of activities and enjoy a fun and educational wine tour throughout the North Georgia Mountains. Every Saturday and Sunday, from 10am-4pm and 11am-5pm respectively, guests of the tour are treated to some of the best wines, panoramic views and inside info that even a wine novice can appreciate. For $99 per person, guests are treated to a walk through the vineyards, an exclusive behind the scenes tour of the wine making process, transportation in a late model high top mini bus with large windows for panoramic views of the countryside, free admission to wine tasting rooms (a $40 value), a personalized guided tour, discounts on wine purchases, a special free gift and free bottled water on the bus on the bus ride up.
Guests are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes early for bus departure time from the Dunwoody MARTA Station to ensure they are accommodated with adequate seating. Some of the participating wineries featured on the tour include: Montaluce Winery, Wolf Mountain Vineyards, Blackstock Vineyards and Three Sisters Vineyards & Winery. Reservations and tour registration can be made on the company website. It’s also good to check out the Georgia Wine Experience website to see the list of do’s & don'ts of winery etiquette.
The Dunwoody MARTA Station is located at 1111 Hammond Dr. Atlanta, GA 30328 Event phone: 404-349-7979
