One of the most beautiful and personal things about the holiday season are the decorations and how they experience your sense of style, taste and commitment to the season. Some people prefer the bigger/better approach, while others agree that an understated decorating style suits them best. However, if you really want to see the magic of decorating and what can happen when the ultimate design holiday is put in the hands of professionals, you should consult the team at Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Magazine. They have just unveiled their annual design and location for their Christmas House, and it is a sight to behold.

The magazine selected 4775 Dudley Lane in Atlanta as the location of the 44th annual Christmas House, which benefits the Alliance Theatre. Gina Christman, publisher of Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles, described why this location stood out from other candidates, “Nestled in the heart of Atlanta's prestigious Chastain Park neighborhood, known for its running paths, stables and both modern and classic homes, this year’s Christmas House is sure to make people stop and take in the holiday season as they drive by.”

Further description of the location gives you an inside peak into the Christmas House without even setting foot inside. With exteriors of stone and brick, multiple entrances, peaked rooflines and graceful columns, the Dudley Lane home has the feeling of an updated New England farmhouse that is welcoming and comfortable while still elegant and inspiring. French doors lead to a tiered pool area visible from the kitchen and breakfast room. A true delight for the talented designers to decorate with the warmth of the holiday spirit, the first floor rooms with custom floors and ceilings are showered in light and designed for both entertaining and intimacy.

This year’s Christmas House will feature beautiful designs from leading local businesses and national companies including: Amy D. Morris Interiors, The Mercantile, Beth Webb Interiors, Holt Interiors, Gilstrap Edwards Interior Design, James Farmer Designs, Inspirations Kitchen and Bath, Square Feet Studio and Boxwoods Gardens & Gifts. Running now through Sunday, December 9, the Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Christmas House will be open to the public for tours Thursdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Advance tickets are $18 each; $20 each at the door. Groups of 10 or more are $15 each, and children 12 and under are admitted free.
