When it comes to beloved and world-renowned classic holiday tales, The Nutcracker is high up on just about anyone’s list. What has become a holiday tradition in Atlanta is back once again as Atlanta Ballet’s The Nutcracker saunters on to the Fox Theatre stage to entertain audiences of all ages in a story that only gets better with time. With so many variations and interpretations of this story, it’s easy to forget the beautiful simplicity of the original and that is exactly what the Atlanta Ballet aims to do with their performance of a ballet that has inspired young girls and boys to follow their dreams through the art of dance.

The holiday season begins with the return of Atlanta Ballet's The Nutcracker to The Fox Theatre. The Nutcracker is based on the story "The Nutcracker and the King of Mice" written by E.T.A. Hoffman. It is the story of a young German girl who dreams of a Nutcracker Prince and a fierce battle against a Mouse King with seven heads. It’s a fun-filled, magical adventure that continues to thrill audiences. Bring the whole family for an enchanting and memorable evening that keeps the spirit of the holiday season alive! Choreographed by John McFall and with music by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, this year’s production promises to be just as fulfilling and full of the season’s spirit as in years past.

The Nutcracker begins at the Fox Theatre on December 7th and runs until December 26th. Performance run time is approximately two hours, including a 25 minute intermission.  Selected dates have both afternoon and evening performances, consult the Fox Theatre box office for specifics.  For more information visit http://ev10.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/SEGetEventList?groupCode=NUT&linkID=fta&shopperContext=&caller=&appCode= .
