It’s becoming a regular occurrence in Atlanta to expect a new restaurant (or a few) to open at least weekly or bi-weekly. Currently, the winter season is blessing the city of Atlanta with frigid temps and somewhat icy roads, which usually calls for a heavy meal of down-home southern cooking to stick to your ribs and warm you up on cold winter nights. Surprisingly, the type of food that many Atlanta residents seem to be craving during these doldrums of winter appears to be of the Tex-Mex variety. That’s right; a recent drive by of Midtown’s Mi Cocina saw a pretty substantial crowd for a weekday and for Tex-Mex restaurant. If the crowds are this heavy during the cold months of the year, Mi Cocina is in for an even more massive gathering when the Atlanta mercury begins to rise.
