Jazz music is one of the oldest forms of self-expression, but unfortunately it lost its grasp on the popular music circuit years ago. However, thanks to several events around the city such as WCLK Jazz Night, it ensures that the appreciation for musicís more intricate art form is preserved. Presented by Atlantaís jazz station Jazz 91.9 WCLK, Jazz Night is scheduled to be held at Ferst Center for the Arts at Georgia Tech on Friday, September 14 th at 7:30pm. The headliner of this jazz benefit concert is successful jazz vocalist Gregory Porter. The Grammy-nominated artist will perform selections from his latest album Be Good , which has a winning mixture of jazz and soul ballads as well as more up-tempo tunes to keep the audience on its feet. Opening for Porter is acclaimed flautist Claudia Hayden. WCLK is always committed to keeping jazz music flowing throughout Atlanta, and as a result, they host several events throughout the year for local jazz fans to appreciate. Jazz Night is just another way to benefit the genre and simultaneously support performing arts in the city. Ticket prices for this event vary based on seating preference and they are as follows: $32.50, $47.50 and $57.50.
