The saddle you re viewing here was made by none other than the senior statesman of saddle makers DALE HARWOOD himself. The saddle is clearly marked in the seat, name plate behind cantle , and latigo keeper. I contacted and spoke with the Harwoods in Idaho concerning the serial number and learned the following. The saddle was made in 1973. It has a 3B, 13 swell tree with a 15 amp frac12 seat. The tree was made by the world renowned Severe Brothers in Pendleton, Oregon. The fender length is nineteen , also. Finally, I learned that the saddle was originally made for a Jim Hendrix, who, as I understand now, is a horse trainer. As you can see from the images, the saddle is about 1 3 copper rose tooled. The tooling is crisp everywhere except on the seat jockeys, where it s slightly wore some, but not bad at all. The original fleece is showing some age, but doesn t need replacing as of yet.
