MARTA Fares

MARTA offers many options for the local resident as well as for visitors from all over the world. Listed below are the standard fares and other special programs available (distributed through Program Administrator only). Fare or cash value must be added to a reloadable Breeze Card; when purchasing a new Breeze Card, $1 is added to selected fare.

Atlanta Tourist Loop

Breeze Tickets (paper) are only distributed through Group Sales, UPASS and K-12 Programs. Tickets are accepted as valid fare media on Bus and Rail.

Transfers

Train riders may use tokens or exact change (coins only-no pennies), bus-to-rail transfer tickets, or weekly or monthly TransCards to unlock turnstiles, which lead to the boarding platforms. Token machines are located outside all station entrances.

Children's Fare

Buses generally run from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m., Monday through Friday, and from 6 a.m. until 1 a.m. on weekends and holidays. Individual bus routes vary. Call Customer Information at (404) 848-4711 for details.

Transfers

Important things to remember about transfers:

nAll customers are required to have a valid Breeze Card loaded with appropriate fare to ride MARTA.
nTransfers are only available on a Breeze Card and are automatically loaded when you tap to board a bus or exit a rail station.
nIf you pay with cash you will need to load your fare onto a Breeze Card to receive your transfer.
nTransfers cannot be used for round-trip travel.
nYou are allowed 4 transfers within a 3-hour period.

Student Pass Program

Come and ride with us to the Georgia Aquarium, High Museum of Art, CNN Center, Georgia Dome/Philips Arena, Martin Luther King, Jr. Center, Atlanta Botanical Garden, Underground Atlanta, State Capitol, Fox Theatre, Piedmont Park, World of Coca-Cola and other major attractions, hotels, restaurants and shops.
