Atlanta Botanical Garden Gets Cooking This Summer

Aside from its picturesque views and enjoyable temperatures, one of the most memorable and anticipated elements of the summer season also happens to be the food. There are a myriad of foods to sample or indulge in that run the gamut from light and fresh to decadent and hearty. Food festivals and events are a mainstay in Atlanta, which is why the Atlanta Botanical Garden is getting in on the popularity by bringing residents a host of culinary events to partake in this summer season.

Be sure to bring your appetite! Edible Season blooms this summer at the Atlanta Botanical Garden with the return of a popular cooking series as well as a smorgasbord of new offerings in the Edible Garden Outdoor Kitchen. The events are as follows: Garden Chef Cooking Demonstrations Saturdays and Sundays, May-October, noon , 1 p.m. , 2 p.m. Each weekend, the Garden Chef showcases fresh seasonal vegetables, fruits and herbs in simple, mouth-watering recipes. Free with Garden admission. Cocktails in the Garden Thursdays, May-September, 6 - 10 p.m. Enjoy Garden Chef Cooking Demonstrations from 7 - 9 p.m. while sipping cocktails from cash bars and relaxing to the beat of a live deejay. Free with Garden admission.

Well-Seasoned Chef Series First, Second and Third Tuesdays, May-October, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. This popular series returns for a fourth season with a better-than-ever lineup of Atlanta's finest farm-to-table chefs. Guests have a rare opportunity to learn from the best, as these astonishing chefs prepare a four-part small-plate menu with food freshly harvested from the Edible Garden. Recipes and wine selections are tailored to bring out the quality, freshness, and enhanced flavor of locally grown produce.

Fresh Plates Series Third Wednesdays and Fourth Tuesdays, May-October, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Chefs from Atlanta's favorite neighborhood restaurants provide the rare opportunity to learn how they create their signature dishes. Enjoy a fun evening dining, sipping, and chatting as the chefs prepare a four-part small plate menu of dishes you know and love!
