Atlanta Happenings Week of 10142013

Welcome to your top events of the week list! This is going to be a really interesting week here in Atlanta. There's a little bit of everything for everyone. There are a few hot concerts and shows to see, college football and a little NFL Football. Check out what Atlanta has to offer this week. There are some great shows that will be pretty popular this week. On Tuesday at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, check out Jimmy Fallon's Clean Cut Comedy tour live featuring Julian McCullough, Nate Bargatze & Nick Thune. Also at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre the following night on Wednesday, the Barefoot Contessa herself, Ina Garten, will be demonstrating her famous cooking skills live.

Catch comedian Lewis Black at the same theater on Saturday. On Sunday at the Fabulous Fox Theatre, The Long Island Medium, Theresa Caputo, will be doing large group readings and maybe connecting attendees with their loves ones who have passed. As far as hot concerts go, the best ones to see this week include hard rockers Avenged Sevenfold, Deftones & Ghost B.C. on Tuesday at Aarons Amphitheatre at Lakewood, pop singer Aaron Carter on Tuesday at Buckhead Theatre, rock band A Day to Remember with All Time Low & Pierce the Veil on Wednesday Aarons Amphitheatre.

If country is your thing, go see rising country stars Hunter Hayes & Ashley Montroe on Thursday at the Fabulous Fox Theatre or seasoned veterans Junior Brown on Friday at the Variety Playhouse or Kris Kristofferson on Sunday at the Atlanta Symphony Hall. The big concert of the week goes to Rod Stewart & Steve Winwood at the Philips Arena on Saturday. There's a few decent sporting events going on this week. Preseason NBA is getting underway. You can check out the Hawks vs. the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday at Philips Arena and again on Sunday vs. the Memphis Grizzlies. The Hawks are already off to a rough start. Gustavo Ayon is out with a shoulder injury, John Jenkins has back spasms and Lou Williams is out for ACL rehab.

Hopefully they can turn things around soon. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will be up against the Syracuse Orange on Saturday at Bobby Dodd Stadium. On Sunday, The Falcons take on the the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Both teams have been struggling this season, so this is a good opportunity for the Falcons to rise up and take home a win. Those are your hot events for the week. Get your tickets in advance, as many of these events sell out quick! Have a great week.
