Wow, there is a lot of great events going on this week, truly something for everyone. Whether you fancy baseball, football, concerts, theater or comedy, come check out what is going on in Atlanta the week of September 23rd through 29th, 2013! For sporting events this week, the main events include the Atlanta Braves vs. the Milwaukee Brewers and the Philadelphia Phillies later in the week, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs.Virginia Tech Hokies. Closing out the week, the Atlanta Falcons will take on the New England Patriots. If you're more of a music fan, the top shows will be Ani DiFranco on Wednesday at the Variety Playhouse, John Mayer & Phillip Phillips on Friday at Aarons Amphitheatre, 30 Seconds to Mars on Friday at the Tabernacle, Lionel Richie on Friday at Chastain Park Ampitheatre and Martina McBridge on Saturday at Chastain Park. If you're in the mood to laugh your face off, go see Russell Brand on Saturday at the Tabernacle. If you're in the mood for theater, go see Tyler Perry's Madea and the Neighbors from Hell on Monday and Tuesday at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center or Stomp on Thursday at Fabulous Fox Theater. Just this week, the Braves clinched the NL East Crown and smoked the Chicago Cubs in a 5-2 when Adrelton Simmons hit two homers.

Expect more big things from the Braves! The Yellow Jackets beat the North Carolina Tarheels this past weekend 28-20. Of note, Georgia Tech won their 8th continuous home win in the series and eight of nine in the series total. Sadly, the Falcons lost to the Dolphins this past weekend. Hopefully QB, Matt Ryan, can shake things up this week against the Patriots and improve their 1-2 record. So there you have it, the hot events for this week! Be sure to get your tickets in advance so you don't risk being disappointed by a sell out. Until next week! For more information about the author, Gary G., please visit my Google+ profile page.
