Atlanta Happenings Week of 9302013

It's going to be an interesting week in Atlanta this week. There isn't really one stand out event to mention, but a bunch of smaller great events. Some are blasts from the past, some thrilling competitions and others are great sporting events. Come check out and see what Atlanta has to offer this week. Since the Falcons are playing Monday Night Football, there will be no football in town on Sunday. Additionally, outside the Atlanta Football Classic at the Georgia Dome on Saturday, there's no other college football going on either. However, there is some exciting baseball to be had this week! Since the Cardinals were victorious over the Cubs on Sunday (4-0), the Cards clinched the No.1 seed in the National League Playoffs. The Braves beat the Phillies on Sunday (12-5) and are one game behind the Cards and have the best record in the league.

The Dodgers and the Braves will compete against each other for the first time since 1996 this week. Things look good for the Braves as the Braves have beaten the Dodgers in five of the last seven of their games this season. For Atlanta Braves and other MLB playoff ticket prices check out this . There are some pretty cool throwback shows happening this week. The first lady of punk rock, Blondie, will be performing at Buckhead Theatre on Tuesday. Another great band, Earth, Wind and Fire will be playing at the Fabulous Fox Theatre on Wednesday. Last of the throwback shows, are Jeff Beck & Brian Wilson can be seen at Chastain Park Ampitheatre on Friday.

What a cool mix of the Beach Boys fun, happy music and blues rock of the Surrey-born guitarist. Other shows of note include funny man Dane Cook at The Tabernacle on Friday and the Wolf Creek Jazz Festival with Gerald Albright & Phil Perry at the Wolf Creek Ampitheatre on Friday. Also taking place on Friday, you could see up and coming star J. Cole & Wale. J. Cole's popularity is escalating by the day. So those are the events of note taking place in Atlanta this week. Be sure to get your tickets in advance if it's an event you really want to see. Hope you have a great week! For more information about the author, Gary G., please visit my Google+ profile page.
