Atlanta Labor Day Music Festival

Summer's swan song is finally upon us, and with it comes a host of celebrations in Atlanta to bid a fond farewell to the sweltering temperatures, backyard barbeques and poolside excursions. There are a multitude of events happening throughout the city this Labor Day weekend and arguably the most soulful of them all is the Atlanta Labor Day Music Festival featuring some of R&B music's finest.

Taking place on the city's south side of College Park on Saturday, September 1, Wolf Creek Amphitheater is the destination for the Atlanta Labor Day Music Festival, where you can see classic R&B artists performing dozens of hits and Idol is taking the stage as well. That's right, this soul music showcase is headlined by season three American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino.

Joining her powerful vocals are multi-platinum R&B group Dru Hill, soul crooner Joe and the silky vocals of Tony Terry. Hosted by comedian Lightfoot, this is a music showcase that gives R&B fans a perfect combination of classic and current acts. Giving attendees plenty of time to enjoy the day and get everything they need or want before the show starts, doors for the festival open at 4pm, which is two hours earlier than the actual 6pm showtime.

Various vendors will be on sight selling food, beverages, souvenirs and a host of other merchandise to further enhance your concert-going experience. You can also bring your own food, drinks and coolers inside the venue, where parking is just $10 and shuttle service is provided. Ticket prices range from $45-$75 and can be purchase online, by phone or at any authorized vendor of Ticketmaster. For more information visit , or call 1-800-745-3000.
