Best BBQ - Heirloom Market

"Heirloom Market is the smallest of places with the biggest of hearts." When you think of BBQ, its not often South Korea will come to mind. Sure, we have all enjoyed some Korean BBQ from time-to-time, but not like this. Heirloom Market has literally changed the way we look at and enjoy southern-style BBQ. When chef's Cody and Jiyeon decided to start Heirloom, they built the foundation on this simplest of thoughts, "What can we enjoy doing for the next 10 years?" Knowing their food will only mirror the weight of their strengths, they decided to pay respect to their different heritages (one from South Korea and the other from Texas) and add a touch of personal flavor.

They created an establishment and designed a menu of things that they "would eat on their days off." Basically, if the Chef's enjoyed it, so would their customers. And they were 100% correct. "Simple, Classic, and Fresh are three adjectives that should never be lost when providing such a polarizing cuisine as BBQ." Both chef's used their own roots as a tremendous influence in their culinary creation. Cody (a Texas born, Tennessee raised, Atlanta trained Chef) has spent countless hours cooking, eating, and appreciating everything BBQ. Jiyeon, a South Korean ex-pat, grew up with the flavors of grilled meats, pickled vegetables, and a constant array of side dishes. Her culinary training and travels in the states has led to a deep rooted love for "Seoul" food or classic Southern cuisine. These forces have joined together to give Atlanta the BBQ it has been missing.

The menu offers all the traditional favorites we have all grown to love (brisket, pulled chicken and pork, ribs and mac n' cheese) but the flavors are anything but traditional. It is a place that must be tried to be understood. Heirloom Market BBQ 2243 Akers Mill Rd.
