Best Craft Beer- The Porter Beer Bar

Atlanta has been blessed with a lot of things, but nothing quite as sweet as what 2008 brought. What happened in 2008, you ask? Porter Beer Bar made Little Five Points just a little sweeter. Owners Molly Gunn and Nick Rutherford strived to fulfill a lifelong dream of theirs by giving their neighbors a place they could visit more frequently than some of the other hoity-toity places they used to work at and frequent. "While we had always worked in fine dining, when it came to our own place, we wanted something more casual, where people could come in once a week instead of once a year," said Molly. "We only live two blocks away, so when we found this space, it was love at first sight."

The cozy restaurant offers a little something for everyone with their large wooden booths big enough for a family or close friends, the exposed brick wall giving it some extra charm, the casual gourmet pub grub filling your belly and of course the beer. 44 beers on draft and 700 bottled beers, to be exact, is what really makes this place one of the best bars in Atlanta . The beer list is only micro-brews and small imports, offering pours not available at most local bars. The Porter has been consistently listed among the top ten beer bars in the world by The Porter had also been named "Best New Pub" and "Best Beer Haunt" by Atlanta Magazine. Since its opening, Nick Rutherford has been called a "future super star chef" by the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

The constantly changing specials page is where Chef Nick struts his stuff, with dishes such as Painted Hills Steak Tartare and Florida Corn Agnolotti. The regular menu reflects more traditional bar food made with fresh ingredients and new twists.
