Celebrate the Holiday Season at Fernbank with Martinis IMAX

The holidays are known to keep you close to the home front entertaining guests, preparing meals and putting up decorations. However, there are ways to celebrate the season that involve a fun and festive night out on the town and Fernbank Museum knows just how to do it. Read on to find out about the holiday edition of their popular staple Martinis & IMAX ! Although the busy holiday season is in full swing, don't forget to pencil Martinis & IMAX into your Friday night schedule. Martinis & IMAX continues every Friday through November, only peeking out of its winter hibernation on December 20 th for a special holiday edition, until the New Year. To complement the holiday season, Fernbank Museum of Natural History is extending viewing hours for its Winter Wonderland: Celebrations & Traditions Around the World exhibition during Martinis & IMAX on select winter nights.

Leave your holiday worries at home and join Martinis & IMAX for a night filled with mingling, live entertainment, specialty cocktails, small plates, and a film on the biggest screen in town. "Even though we are taking a short hiatus in December, there are still plenty of chances for Atlantans to experience why Martinis & IMAX has truly become an Atlanta staple," said Fernbank's Allison Fry, who oversees the popular event. "Allowing our guests to view Winter Wonderland after hours transforms the already-festive atmosphere of Martinis & IMAX and adds a holiday feel during these winter months." On November 22 nd and November 29 th , Martinis & IMAX attendees will have the chance to experience Fernbank's 4 th annual Winter Wonderland exhibit during late night viewing hours.

This holiday-inspired exhibit features more than 30 festive trees and artifact displays decorated by local cultural partners to recognize celebrations including Christmas, Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights and more. Martinis & IMAX guests will experience cultures, holidays and traditions across the globe, including a glimpse of cultural celebrations from North America, South America, Africa, Europe, The Caribbean, Mediterranean, and Middle East. Along with extending Winter Wonderland viewing hours, both nights will also feature live jazz music in the Great Hall performed by CC Booker III featuring Will Scruggs on November 22 nd and Kayla Taylor on November 29 th . Another special edition of Martinis & IMAX will take place on December 20 th .

Although Martinis & IMAX usually takes a break in December, the event returns for one night only to celebrate the holidays with a special Salsa Dance Night. Shake things up with sassy Latin rhythms including Salsa, Merengue, Cha-Cha-Cha, and Bachata. Salsa Dance Night consists of a DJ with high-energy music, dancing and free dance lessons provided by the Salsambo Dance Studio, sure to heat up your cold winter night. On December 20 th , Martinis & IMAX guests will also have the chance to experience Fernbank's Winter Wonderland exhibition during extended viewing hours.
