January Atlanta Entertainment Guide

Finding something to do in Atlanta is never much of a challenge. Atlanta is one of the largest and fasting growing cities in the U.S. and as such attracts world class entertainment from around the world to play at one of the many venues throughout the city. The month of January is no exception as many exciting events will be happening this month in the world of music, theater, and sports. On the concert front, January is booked solid with some major acts taking stage.

Concerts of note include Big Head Todd & The Monsters (January 13th) and Zoso (January 28th) at the Variety Playhouse, Evanescence (January 14th) and Widspread Panic (January 27-29th) at the legendary Tabernacle, Gordon Lightfoot (January 14th) at the Atlanta Symphony Hall, Rebelution (January 27th) at the Masquerade, and the Honda Battle of the Bands at the Georgia Dome. If you're willing to take a quick trip out to Duluth's Arena at Gwinnett Center and you can also see country music star Blake Shelton January 27th) and the Red Hot Chili Peppers (Jaunary 30th) perform. If you like to laugh, Atlanta offers some of the best live comedy in the southeast.

This month Atlanta's Philips Arena will host comedian Jeff Dunham on January 28th. Jerry Seinfeld will also be performing nearby at the Bell Auditorium in Augusta on January 19th and at the River Center for the Performing Arts in Columbus on January 27th. January is also a great month for Atlanta sports fans. The Atlanta Hawks will host two of the best teams in the Eastern Conference in the Miami Heat (January 5th) and the Chicago Bulls (January 7th) and also have other games against the Bobcats, Timberwolves, Raptors, Spurs, Trail Blazers, Nuggets, and Cavaliers. In college basketball, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have a huge game on January 7th at Philips Arena against the Duke Blue Devils.

In Athens, the Georgia Bulldogs also have some key matchups against the Alabama Crimson Tide (January 7th), the Tennessee Volunteers (January 19th), Ole Miss Rebels (January 21st), and the Kentucky Wildcats (January 24th).
