Les Misrables Celebrates 25th Anniversary at the Fox

Atlanta, there are more reasons to celebrate these days than the early spring blossoms and breezy temperatures. For a few nights only, the world's longest-running musical is coming to the Fox Theatre for its 25 th anniversary celebratory production. Les Miserables bows in Atlanta April 24-29 featuring all of the songs you love with a few new twists. Aside from the 25 th anniversary, there are other notable reasons why this crowd-pleasing production has cause for celebration.

Producer Cameron Mackintosh has improved upon the original by adding new staging and re-imagined scenery inspired by the paintings of Les Miserables' print scribe Victor Hugo. The Broadway production of Les Miserables originally opened at the Broadway Theatre on March 12, 1987 and transferred to the Imperial Theatre in Oct. 1990 running for 6,680 performances. The US National Tour began in November 1987 and visited over 150 cities before closing in St. Louis, MO in 2006. Broadway audiences welcomed it back to New York in Nov. 2006 where the show played the Broadhurst Theatre until its final performance on January 6, 2008.

To date, Les Miserables remains the 3 rd longest-running Broadway production of all time. This beloved story follows the struggles of ex-con Jean Valjean on his search for redemption. The score features some of the best songs of any musical to ever grace the stage. With classics like "I Dreamed a Dream," "On My Own," "Stars," "Bring Him Home," "Do You Hear the People Sing?," "One Day More," "Empty Chairs at Empty Tables," "Master Of The House" and many more, sure to have you singing along throughout the entire performance.
