Restaurant Spotlight Bite

One of the best things that an existing restaurant can do is never get too complacent to improve upon the business. Whether it is in the form of menu updates, expansion or remodeling, sometimes a refresher of sorts is a good way to keep current customers intrigued while attracting new ones. One restaurant that has done all of those things in just two short years is Alpharetta eatery Bite. Already established as one of the most buzzed about hotspots north of Atlanta; Bite further attempts to draw you in to its culinary web.

Since undergoing a menu change, large expansion and upping the amount of dinner service during the week, Bite is almost like that friend that you haven't seen in a while that looks a little different, but is still the same where it counts. Such a massive expansion (a new patio and full bar were added) isn't usually what most restaurants located in intimate shopping center space are capable of, but Bite managed to pull things together quite impressively. The decor is modern with clean lines and an even color palette, which is equally inviting and stylish. In addition, the new patio should be a highly favored seating area during Atlanta's warmer months.

Executive Chef and owner Leif Johnson has crafted an eclectic menu he calls New American, which gives him the liberty to pull flavors from different profiles including Asian, Latin and East coast dishes. There are definitely more than a few highlights at Bite, but some notables stand out from the rest.

The Salmon BLT (grilled Scottish salmon, avocado, house cured bacon, tomato, green leaf & sweet chili mayo on foccacia), Fig & Prosciutto Flatbread (mascarpone, fig, prosciutto & arugula with balsamic syrup), Crawfish & Quinoa Cakes (crawfish, quinoa, corn macque choux, sofrito remoulade), Lobster Roll (tarragon, chives, parsley, lime aioli, black pepper-thyme roll, spicy corn slaw) and the Airline Chicken Breast (free bird, brussel sprouts, roasted sweet potato, pistachio, brown butter veloute) are all dishes that are encouraged for first-timers.

There is also a full bar menu with beer, wine and mixed drinks. However, it's the cucumber lemonade that's the standout. Bite is located at 11500 Webb Bridge Road, Suite A9, Atlanta, 770-754-5500.
