Restaurant Spotlight Reveille Cafe

Great places to have a delicious breakfast or lunch in the city are quite plentiful, so in order for an establishment to distinguish itself from the crowded culinary landscape, they must have their own vision that sets them apart. Reveille Cafe in Marietta is a cute and cozy spot serving up breakfast and lunch fare that is a delight for couples who want an intimate setting, as well as others for the very same reason. Not to mention, the food is pretty impressive too. Pull up a chair to find out why this should be your new culinary hangout. The decor of Reveille Cafe contains a spacious coffee bar, plush booths and multiple tables for those with bigger parties.

The chocolate brick outside greets you first; it's a little funny that the brick resembles chocolate, which is an ingredient you'll find once inside. The interior also contains earth tones, including tan, off white, more brown and a soft coastal blue to offset. Starting with breakfast, there are "Aahh-melet" menus, From the Griddle offerings, healthy choices and house favorites, so let's explore the highlights from each category. For the "Aahh-melets" the Blanco (egg whites with turkey, red onion, sauteed mushrooms, white cheddar and dill) and the Spinach & Bacon (with bleu cheese and sun-dried tomato) are the standouts.

From the Griddle notables include: Blueberry Lemon Pancakes (lemon pancakes filled with fresh blueberries and topped with zesty lemon cream), "The King" Griddle Cakes (sweet cream pancakes filled with sliced bananas, Reese's peanut butter chips and served with honey) and the Creme Brulee French Toast (French toast dipped in vanilla batter, grilled and topped with brown sugar and caramelized, also served with a side of banana pudding.) The Healthy Choices like the Turkey Bacon Plate and the Tomato-Basil Scramble are great for those that like a lighter, but still hearty breakfast.

For the lunch side of things, try the Turkey Dijon sandwich (turkey, bacon, Swiss on wheat with lettuce, tomato and Dijon mayo) and the Reveille Melt (chicken salad on a pretzel roll with melted cheddar and tomatoes. There are a host of other things to choose from, as well as a nice beverage menu with juices, coffee and fountain drinks. Reveille Cafe is located at 2960 Shallowford Road, Marietta, 770-971-6800.
