Restaurant Spotlight Seven Lamps

The Buckhead area of town just north of the city, is one of the hottest places there is in the Southern oasis known as Atlanta, you have practically everything you need to soak up the city's energy and understand why it's dubbed the "Hollywood of the South." Given that this is one of the most widely popular parts of town, there is always a since of excitement when a new restaurant decides to take up residence and call Buckhead home.

This is exactly the case with newly opened restaurant Seven Lamps, which occupies a nice, cozy spot in the Shops Around Lenox shopping center adjacent to Lenox Square Mall. Take a look and find out if Seven Lamps shines bright on the Atlanta culinary scene. For lack of a better word, the food at Seven Lamps is decadent, meaning it's indulgent and comforting, which is precisely how the decor appears to first-time diners. Sturdy, dark brick walls and burnished wood tables set the scene, while granite table tops and a decorative patio setting welcome patrons in. With a location this prime, there really doesn't need to be an overabundance of restaurant decor, but Seven Lamps manages to provide a pleasing visual setting without overdoing it.

Meanwhile Chef Drew Van Leuvan presents a menu that features several Italian dishes peppered amongst traditional American fare and creative culinary concoctions for those with a more refined palate. The small plate options contain standouts like Lobster Ramen Broth, Savory Crepes (wood-grilled Tuscan kale, Vidalia onions, gruyere gratin and smoked vinaigrette), Baked Pecorino Tosano Cheese (cedar, Chanterelle mushrooms, pickled pearls and truffle honey) and Hot Oysters. The entrees however, are even more impressive with a myriad of highlights to choose from including: Agnolotti Stuffed with Aged Fontina & Ricotta, Tortellini Stuffed with Braised Chestnut & Mascarpone, Wood-Roasted Chicken Breast, Idaho Potato Gnocchi and the Cannelloni.

To complete your meal, dessert features a few dishes to salivate over, such as Baba Au Rhum (candied orange, roasted white chocolate ice cream), Affogato (espresso pastry cream, vanilla ice cream and hot espresso) and Baked Chocolate Mousse. Seven Lamps also has a full bar and drink menu with beverages to specifically compliment your meal. Seven Lamps is located at 3400 Around Lenox Road No. 217, Atlanta, 404-467-8950.
