Restaurant Spotlight Vin 25 Bistro Wine Bar

In the culinary world there are often waves of food trends. Over the last few years we've seen cupcakes, gourmet sliders and designer Mac n' Cheese, all get gobbled up by the general public and dominating through enormous popularity. Also added to that list is the fascination with wine and the assumption that everyone fancies themselves an amateur sommelier.

Individuals falling into the latter group will be happy to know that there is a new restaurant on the scene successfully combining delicious food and a commitment to wine selection and availability that even the harshest wine critics would approve of. Vin 25 Bistro & Wine Bar recently opened in the city of Roswell, already home to an impressive feat of culinary establishments, and is owned by Master Sommelier Philip Cooper, who insists that each menu item is designed to be paired with a choice wine selection. Before you sit down to order however, you are struck by the warm, rustic vibe of the building and its accompanying decor.

Upon first look, at has the feel of a lover's hideaway often found in fairytales; it's this familiar surrounding that inspires patrons to indulge in everything this restaurant has to offer. There is also a nod to the contemporary, with an L-shaped bar in the center of it all. Since Vin 25 Bistro & Wine Bar is all about the vino, let's start there with a look at their ridiculously massive selections. The wine list includes over 200 selections that were specifically chosen to not only enhance the food, but also please those that love to sip from around the world. If wine isn't your thing, there is also a full beer list and cocktail menu to make your culinary stay more enjoyable.

The food is a varied mixture of snacks, small plates and entrees. Some of the highlights from the current fall menu include: Citrus Cured Hamachi Crudo, The Bacon is a Vegetable "Salad", Roasted Butternut Squash Soup, Vin 25 Shrimp and Grits, Flatiron Steak (fingerling potatoes pan-fried in duck fat & roasted duck demi-glas), Organic Free-Range Boneless Pork Chop (roasted butternut squash & parsnips, port wine apple sauce) and finally Sea Scallops Maitake & Celery Root Risotto with bacon.
