Saint Simons Food Spirits Festival Announces Second Season

Atlanta is known for producing the bulk of its food festivals during the spring and summer season, however this fall there is definitely a culinary event that you should add to your calendar as the leaves begin to turn and a brisk chill fills the air. The Saint Simons Food & Spirits Festival returns in October for a second season of delicious food from some of the city's best, so get your appetite ready now! Following 2012's inaugural sold-out success, the Saint Simons Food & Spirits Festival returns with events running Tuesday, October 1 st through Sunday, October 6 th , 2013.

New to the festival lineup this year are the Sip, Taste & Tour at the Pier, a Food & Spirits Trivia Night, The Maker's Mark BBQ Pro-Am presented by Sea Island and Southern Soul BBQ featuring pitmasters and golf pros, Dinner & a Movie, wine, spirit and mixology classes and a Kids Cooking School.

Last year's anchor events, The Friday Night Festival Feast, Saturday Artisan Market and Tasting Tents on the historic banks of Gascoigne Bluff, and the S pirit ual Sunday brunch at Halyards will once again be on the roster. The event benefits Hospice of the Golden Isles, the only community-formed, non-profit hospice serving the five county area. This unique festival celebrates the culinary culture and artistic lifestyles of the Golden Isles. Highlighting local chefs and restaurants, events will also feature celebrity chefs, mixologists and vendors from around the Southeast.

Guests will sample tastings from chefs and learn techniques from cooking demonstrations, sip on spirit samplings from regional brewers, distillers and vintners, and shop the market which will offer Local produce, culinary creations and Artisan offerings. Expanding upon the 2012 line-up, more tickets and media access will be available for an expanded range of classes and exclusive experiences.

An upscale Patron's ticket package has been created to provide a select group of guests a unique festival week. As the winner of The Allie Awards for "Best Public Fair or Festival," an Atlanta based organization recognizing special events, this festival is not to be missed.
