Summer time and livins breezy

While many tend to avoid the downtown area and seek shelter at a nearby beach or river, many do stay in our booming metropolis. If you are one of the many Atlantians who decide to remain here for the hot summer months, you will need something fun to cool you off. Finding something to do is easy. Deciding which options to go with is where it gets tricky. So, where should you spend your summer in Atlanta? While we all know that the 4th of July signifies the ending of summer, we still have plenty of time to enjoy this blissful time of year. (And I know just where to start.) Summer isn't summer without live music.

Imagine a setting offering warm breezes, cold drinks and sparkling sunsets (and even champagne). While this may sound like a dream get-a-way, it is actually all quite possible right here in Atlanta. Sit back and relax with your friends, neighbors and tourists from all over the world and enjoy summer night after summer night of groovy tunes, wild festivals and epic parties. Here are some events to help wrap up your summer. Macon Film Festival July 16th-19th enjoy four days in indie films from all over! Surrounded by a rich musical and southern culture, the Macon Film Festival celebrates independent films while promoting filmmaking for entertainment, inspiration, education, and economic development. Atlanta Ice Cream Festival Saturday, July 25th welcomes the 5th Annual Atlanta Ice Cream Festival in Piedmont Park. Doors open at 11AM.

Atlanta Bar-B-Q Festival Atlanta's BEST BAR-B-Q Cook Off and Festival - August 14th & 15th, 2015. Cooking demos, competition among 50 'cue teams, eats from local restaurants. a market for grilling supplies, and live music. ONYXCON Celebrating the impact, contributions, & presence of the African Diaspora in realms of imagination via the popular Arts! The show runs August 13-14. Stay tuned for more summer events!
