The Center for Puppetry Arts Presents Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer

One of the most beloved Christmas tales ever made has a temporary home at Atlanta's Center for Puppetry Arts. That's right all you Christmas fable fanatics, the always sweet and endearing Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is in Atlanta to delight audiences young and old. Although it's been playing in the city since the beginning of November, this touching story is going to stay around for quite a while. So, gather up the kids, family members, and friends or even go by yourself, and check out a performance of a classic tale guaranteed to warm your heart this holiday season. Back by popular demand! Rudolph soars back into town for this faithful adaptation of the wonderful holiday tradition that speaks to the misfit in all of us.

Based on the beloved 1964 stop-motion animated special, Rudolph and his friends (including Hermey the elf, Yukon Corneilus and the Abominable Snow Monster) take the stage in a holiday adventure for all ages. You won't want to miss it! The Center for Puppetry Arts Artistic Director Jon Ludwig, describes why he wanted to bring an adaptation of the classic tale to theatre-goers of Atlanta. "By bringing this loving recreation of one of my favorite stories of all time to the stage, I know that, just as I was touched so deeply by the original production back in '64, we can reach many, young and old, through the magic of a great story told within the imaginative medium of live puppet theater where all the puppetry, voices and singing are done live by the puppeteers."

The only thing better than watching the show is the special after-show features that are included. After select performances of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer , a rare, live-camera, behind-the-scenes demonstration will be included . The Rudolph Unwrapped demonstration showcases how the puppeteers magically perform the story of Rudolph and all his misfit friends. Patrons will receive an exclusive peek into a world rarely seen.

Traditionally, puppeteers perform hidden; while watching Rudolph Unwrapped , audiences will view the intricate backstage ballet of the puppets, props, scenery, and puppeteers. This "behind-the-playboard" exploration is a unique way for audiences to fully enjoy the "other side of the curtain."
