The Producers Comes to the Fox

The New Year is officially upon us, with just a few days left in January. With a new year, comes new things to check out in Atlanta and one of the hottest shows in town is a Broadway favorite and a Tony award winner. If you haven't guessed, the show that everyone is talking about is The Producers and it makes its stop in Atlanta this weekend and runs all the way until January 31 st . With uproarious laughter, memorable music and an engrossing story, this is perhaps the best way to ring in all things new! The Producers , a Broadway musical darling, won a record 12 Tony Awards and wowed capacity crowds night after night.

It returns to Atlanta after an 8-year absence and sets the standard for modern, outrageous, in-your-face humor. In case you're unfamiliar with the plot, a little refresher of events might help. Bialystock and Bloom! Those names should strike terror and hysteria in anyone familiar with Mel Brooks' classic cult comedy film. The plot is simple: a down-on-his-luck Broadway producer and his mild-mannered accountant come up with a scheme to produce the most notorious flop in history thereby bilking their backers (all "little old ladies") out of millions of dollars.

Only one thing goes awry: the show is a smash hit! At the core of the insanely funny adventure is a poignant emotional journey of two very different men who become friends. The Producers is being performed as it was on Broadway. The show includes adult situations and language. The show is not suitable for children and attendance should be at the discretion of parents. There are three showtimes for the days The Producers is at the Fox, 1:30, 2 and 8 p.m., depending on which day you go will determine your showtime.
