Can you believe it's almost fall? School starts in just a few short weeks, along with the long- awaited football season. Spend the hottest days of the year taking in some of the hottest activities in the Atlanta area. Cruise your way through August with some live entertainment, a sneak peak at some fall sports and some amazing entertainment! Thursday, August 22 nd The Bruno Mars Moonshine Jungle Tour takes over Phillips Arena. The show begins at 7:30PM and ticket information is available here . Backstreet's back, alright! The Backstreet Boys, DJ Pauly D and Jesse McCartney hit the stage starting at 7:00PM. Enjoy the summer breeze as you listen to them perform outside at the Chastain Park Amphitheater.

Tickets are available here . Friday, August 23 rd Pigs and Peaches - Kennesaw BBQ Festival starts today and runs through Saturday. The festival features a Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned BBQ competition, which is recognized as a Georgia Barbecue Championship contest; as well as a Backyard BBQ, Anything Butt and Peach Dessert Contest. Over $15,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to contest winners. Official website here . Margaret Cho, one of comedy's most talented, inspirational and fearless performers, a regular on Lifetime's hit comedy, "Drop Dead Diva" and star of the reality series, "The Cho Show," will perform at Laughing Skull Lounge Thursday, August 22 through Sunday, August 25.

You can catch her performance on Thursday at 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8 and 10:30 p.m. and Sunday at 7 p.m. Join chef Russell Hays to discuss and dine on four French dishes with your choice of a paired beer or wine. Reservations required. $45. 6-9PM at the Lobby at Twelve. Art Amok! Open Mic and Poetry Slam! Poets, musicians, and improv welcome on the open mic (5 minutes per person). The Grant Park Summer Shade Festival supports the work of the Grant Park Conservancy. This FREE event kicks off at 10:00Am and goes until 10:00PM. More info is available here . Big Haynes Creek Wildlife Festival features wild animals, reptiles, a birds-of-prey show, a Frisbee dog show, pony rides, face painting, and arts and crafts at the Georgia International Horse Park.

Festival Peachtree Latino offers music, arts & crafts, vendors, ethnic foods, and a kids' zone at Piedmont Park. Free.
