Things to do this Weekend - Oct 10th to 13th

It's October! One of my all time favorite months and I assume most feel the same way, especially since it's the last month before the brutal cold sets in! Ahh, October. A month dedicated to aiding us with great weather, fun holidays and an endless supply of dark beers, as we approach the inevitable winter months. Enjoy the fall fun before the holiday season fast approaches and step outside of your comfort zone and enjoy some fall festivities. Thursday, October 10 th Scandanavian Smorgasbord . Finnish conductor Susanna Malkki makes her ASO debut with countryman Sibelius' Second Symphony, a work which has become symbolic of the independence of the people of Finland, along with Ravel's lovely fairy tale suite, Ma mere l'oye .

Concertmaster David Coucheron takes center stage for Barber's soaring Violin Concerto. It's Hogtoberfest time! It's time to pig out at South City Kitchen Vinings' third annual Hogtoberfest celebration. Executive Chef Chip Ulbrich and his culinary team have created a delicious pork-centric menu that features a variety of dishes from nose to tail. Hosted by South City Kitchen Vinings , this is an event you don't want to miss. Friday, October 11 th Say, cheese! The First Annual Atlanta Cheese Festival will take place October 11th, 2013 at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park from 5PM-11PM. The festival will feature over 50 of the most recognized cheese & artisan food producers from all over the world. All of the producers will be sampling their famous cheeses & products. For those guests that find CHEESE EUPHORIA, cheese & additional product will be available for purchase.

A Seven tequila Dinner is nothing to sneeze at. But don't take it from me, take it from the owner of Alma Cocina, the official restaurant for this event. "This is it. The dinner we've been planning since we opened almost 2 years ago. One of the hallmarks of our beverage program is the custom barrels of Herrardura tequila--seven total--that we have traveled to Casa Herradura in Mexico to personally taste, approve and bring back to Atlanta." Enjoy! Saturday, October 12 th Pride is coming to Atlanta for the 43 rd year. The 43rd Atlanta Pride Festival is the largest Pride event in the Southeast and the largest event in the country to coincide with National Coming Out Day. This year marks the 4th annual Battle of the Burgers at John Howell Park in Virginia Highlands, taking place on Saturday October 12th, from 11 am until 6 pm.

The cost is $25 general admission, which gives you unlimited burger eating privileges. $50 is for VIP admission, it includes beer and, of course, all you can eat burgers. All proceeds will benefit Embraced , a 501 (c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide assistive mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, etc.) to individuals in need. Pretty Muddy Womens Run is more than just your average mud run. More than a mud run, it's an exciting women-only event where you can let your hair down and have fun! And that's pretty awesome. Bring a fresh pair of clothes so you can hit the town after! Sunday, October 13 th All good things must come to an end, even Ocktoberfest.
